Technology has progressed to the point where there are at least three tools for everything you want to do. While my goal is to bring awareness to many things that may serve small business owners in their daily work. I couldn’t help but think that the overwhelming number of tools and services available could hinder overall productivity.

As a technologist and entrepreneur, I’ve used countless tools and services in various projects with clients. Despite having access to all these resources, it’s easy to get caught up in trying out new shiny things or reconfiguring existing tools instead of simply getting work done.

The key to productivity is avoiding complexity. Keep things simple and stay focused on the task at hand. It’s also important to stick with what works best for you and your projects. Don’t get sucked in by the bells and whistles that come with certain services or tools.

In the Small Business Talk podcast EP 0004, my Co-Host, Veslie Losius, and I discuss some tools you may consider or add to your toolset. Our best effort is simply awareness. As the CEO of your business, you know better than anyone else what you need to be successful. You can feel whether a tool is a hindrance or a game-changer to you or your business.

Below is an excerpt of what we discussed in the Small Business Talk podcast EP 0004. You can listen to Small Business Talk from your favorite podcast app.

Canva

Canva is a user-friendly graphic design tool that is perfect for creating professional designs without having to learn complex software. With a library of built-in templates and tools and millions of images and fonts available online, Canva makes it easy to create beautiful visuals for your business.

You can use Canva to create everything from social media graphics and logos to flyers and brochures. Plus, it has dozens of other features for creating custom designs for your business.

The Internet nowadays is more video-centric. We’ve seen most of the platforms move to adapt, and Canva is no exception to that norm.

Aside from the ability to create still designs, Canva integrates templates to create videos for social media, presentations, and other platforms.

You can create and schedule your social media content in Canva Content Planner.

Canva has democratized design. However, they have done way more than that.

Asana

Asana is a project management tool that helps you track your tasks and projects. With Asana, you can create and assign tasks, set deadlines, share files and notes, and more.

Asana is perfect for small business owners who need to manage multiple projects at once. With Asana, you can easily keep track of all your tasks and deadlines in one place.

We all need to be decent, if not effective, in project management. As entrepreneurs, we build companies and create and market products. We collaborate with others on a variety of projects. So we should be good at this.

Do not let the skill of project management to chance. This message is an opportunity, and a reminder to work on it and horn your project management skill with this easy-to-use tool.

Promo

Promo is a simple, easy-to-use video creation tool that makes it easy to create stunning videos for your business. With Promo, you can create videos in minutes using templates and stock footage.

Promo is perfect for small business owners who want to create professional videos without having to learn complex software. With Promo, you can create beautiful, high-quality videos in minutes.

As I mentioned early, the Internet is video-centric and in that way, Promo is probably the biggest tool you have to shape social media.

Facebook

I don’t know a world in the multiverse where you could associate Facebook with productivity. However, it’s exactly what we’re trying to do here.

If you don’t do Facebook or the metaverse, you should never care.

But for those of us who use it to communicate, share, and collaborate with others, it’s good news to know that there’s a steady move toward a unifying metaverse. By that I mean Facebook is not a distant galaxy from Instagram. And neither the other tools like WhatsApp, Messenger, and upcoming tools.

It started with the Meta Business Suite a few years ago. If you have a business account, you can manage all your business activity on Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram from one place.

Now with Creator Studio, you can do more. Creator Studio brings all the tools you need to effectively post, manage, monetize and measure content across all your Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts. It also helps you take advantage of new features and monetization opportunities when they become available.

Personally, I think this is the beginning of a company that takes the metaverse super seriously.

Conclusion

Canva, Asana, Promo, and Facebook are all powerful tools that can help your business succeed. Canva is perfect for creating stunning visuals, Asana is great for managing tasks and projects, Promo makes it easy to create professional videos, and Facebook allows you to connect with customers and collaborate with others. Use these tools to your advantage and you’ll be able to increase productivity and sales.
